Today’s topic is one of my favorites. Today I will be sharing with you how love influenced my life.
Ever since I was a young girl, love played a huge and vital role in my upbringing. I was the first child and first grandchild to a small family so from what I can remember, it was all about love. I grew up having a stable foundation of what love represents. My parents were a great example of respect and dedication, but most of all, pure love. While our lives were in danger during the war, it was apparent how much they sacrificed just to be able to keep my brother and myself safe; it was indeed inspirational. When the war ended and we had to immigrate to unknown places, the amount of support and love we received from strangers was mind-blowing. Later on in my teenage years, I discovered the love for cooking which kept me going in some of the hardest times of my life.
However, once I hit rock bottom and struggled with suicidal thoughts, I realized that I lost a fundamental principle of life, which in my opinion, is self-love. I have never lacked love and care for others; I always struck to make this world a better place by doing a selfless act of kindness each day. But someway along the way by putting everyone’s needs before my own, I have lost myself. It took me years to get back to what I use to be, years to heal and grow, but most of all to respect and love myself once again.
” Love yourself first, and everything else falls into line. You have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”
– Lucille Ball
In my book, Cinnia’s Story, the last chapter is dedicated to my magic man and my baby boy. As the title states, “Miracles do happen.” They were my miracle, blessing, and everything I have ever hoped for in my life. They have my unconditional love. That kind of love that you can’t put into words, love that takes your breath away, love that fulfills your dreams, love that gives you courage, and makes you the happiest, caring, most influential, bravest wife and a mother; for that I am forever grateful.
“Love and do good in life. Help people in need whenever you can. Respect others. Be an example of what you want to see in this world, and always stay true to yourself.”
-Lily Violet ( Cinnia’s Story )
